Large-format porcelain is one of the fastest-growing categories in surfacing, and shop fabricators and countertop manufacturers are following the demand beyond countertops into showers, feature walls, fireplaces, exterior cladding, and other high-value vertical applications.

The risk is that many shops are approaching porcelain with the same tooling, techniques, and handling methods they already use for quartz and granite. Porcelain does not behave the same way. Treating it like a familiar material leads to slab breakage, edge chipping, callbacks, wasted tooling investments, and missed bids on projects that specify porcelain.

In this ISFA Porcelain Training, attendees will move through the full porcelain fabrication process—from material handling and inspection to cutting, fabrication, installation, and finishing. The training will cover water jet and bridge saw cutting techniques, feed rates, blade selection, sink cutouts, mitering and seaming, adhesives, and real-world installation applications.

Every participant will gain hands-on experience working through key applications, including:
