A Great Time To Get Involved
It is a busy time of year at ISFA — and I mean that in a good way.
Across the organization, there is a lot happening as we continue working to support fabricators, strengthen our industry and create more opportunities for members to connect, learn and get involved.
Throughout the year, one of ISFA’s biggest priorities has been creating more opportunities for fabricators to connect directly with one another. Our regional fabricator events and training opportunities are continuing across the country, bringing members together to share ideas, learn new skills and see firsthand how other companies are approaching the challenges and opportunities in our industry.
If you haven’t attended one of these events yet, I encourage you to take a look at what is coming up. Some of the best value in an association like ISFA comes from simply getting into a room with other fabricators. The conversations, relationships and exchange of ideas between members are a major part of what makes our industry stronger.
Registration has also opened for our Annual Conference this November. This is always one of our biggest opportunities of the year to bring the industry together. Beyond the educational sessions and speakers, the conversations and relationships built during the conference are often just as valuable. I hope to see many of you there.
We also recently opened nominations for our annual awards, the new Edge Awards, giving us an opportunity to recognize the individuals and companies doing great work throughout the industry. There are a lot of people quietly pushing our industry forward every day, and I encourage everyone to think about the people, companies and projects around you that deserve recognition and submit a nomination.
At the same time, nominations are open for the ISFA Board of Directors. Serving on the board is one of the most direct ways to help shape the future of ISFA. We need fabricators who are willing to bring their experience, ideas and perspectives to the table. If you have ever thought about becoming more involved in the association, this may be a great opportunity.
Our work also continues beyond education and events.
ISFA remains actively engaged in advocacy efforts affecting the countertop fabrication industry, both federally and in California. Ensuring fabricators have a voice when decisions are being made that could affect our businesses, employees and industry remains an important part of our work. There is a lot happening in both areas, and we will continue keeping members informed as those efforts progress.
Advocacy is also a good example of why member involvement matters. The more connected we are to fabricators across the country, the better we can understand what is happening in your businesses and represent the industry's interests.
When you put all of this together — education, regional events, our Annual Conference, industry recognition, leadership opportunities and advocacy — there is a lot happening at ISFA right now.
But none of it works without participation from the industry.
Getting involved doesn’t have to mean joining a committee or serving on the board. It can be as simple as attending a regional event, coming to the Annual Conference, nominating someone for an award, sharing your experience with another fabricator or reaching out to ISFA to learn where you might be able to contribute.
So as we head into a busy fall, I encourage you to find one way to get involved.
