How Construction Resources Is Building a Surface Network Across the Southeast
The surface industry continues to evolve alongside the rapid growth of residential construction and remodeling throughout the Southeast. As demand increases, fabricators are being challenged to deliver more than exceptional craftsmanship. They must also navigate material sourcing, logistics, installation timelines, and customer expectations across increasingly complex projects.
At Construction Resources, we believe meeting those challenges starts with building a stronger network, one that combines fabrication expertise, material distribution, design resources, and local market knowledge to better serve builders, designers, remodelers, and homeowners.
Over the past several years, Construction Resources has made significant investments in facilities, strategic acquisitions, and market expansion. While each milestone represents growth for our company, the broader objective remains the same: strengthening the infrastructure that supports the surface industry across the Southeast and beyond.
Why Is Charleston a Key Piece of the Puzzle?
Few markets illustrate the opportunities facing the surface industry quite like Charleston, South Carolina.
Known for its thriving residential construction market, design-forward community, and continued population growth, Charleston has become an increasingly important market for builders, designers, and fabricators alike. Construction Resources has steadily expanded its presence in the region, establishing local surface operations, fabrication capabilities, warehouse infrastructure, and a CR Glass & Mirror location in nearby Summerville.
Building on that foundation, Construction Resources is preparing to open its new Design Center in Mount Pleasant in Fall of 2026. At more than 45,000 square feet, the facility will bring together multiple product categories under one roof while creating a destination for designers, builders, remodelers, and homeowners seeking both inspiration and expertise.
CR Design Center | Charleston represents more than a new showroom opening. It reflects a broader investment in creating a connected ecosystem that supports projects from material selection through fabrication and installation.
How Do Strategic Acquisitions Strengthen Surface Capabilities?
Growth within the surface industry is not simply about opening new locations. It is also about expanding expertise, increasing capacity, and building stronger partnerships.
Construction Resources has strategically grown its surface network through acquisitions that enhance both geographic reach and operational capabilities. In 2024, the company acquired MVP Granite Countertops, a leading countertop fabrication business in Charleston. This acquisition established the foundation for what is now CR Surfaces & Fabrication Charleston, creating a stronger local presence supported by Construction Resources' broader resources and infrastructure.
Building on that momentum, Construction Resources later acquired Vitoria International, a distributor of natural stone and quartz serving Charleston and Savannah, and Ramos Marble & Granite, a respected surface fabrication and installation company in the Tampa market. Together, these additions expanded the company's reach while strengthening its capabilities in material sourcing, fabrication, installation, and customer service.
Each business brought decades of experience, strong customer relationships, and deep local market knowledge. More importantly, they aligned with Construction Resources' long-term commitment to investing in the surface category and supporting fabricators, builders, designers, and homeowners with industry-leading resources.
For customers, this growth translates into a broader selection of materials, expanded fabrication capacity, greater efficiency across multiple markets, and increased support throughout the project lifecycle. By combining local expertise with a regional network, Construction Resources is creating a seamless surface experience that benefits both industry professionals and end users across the Southeast.
What Does Expansion Mean for the Future?
Charleston is only one chapter in a much larger growth story.
Construction Resources recently announced plans for a new 48,000-square-foot CR Design Center in Dallas, scheduled to open in 2027. The project follows the company's entry into Texas through the acquisition of The Jarrell Company, a luxury appliance, plumbing, and lighting distributor with deep roots in the market.
The company has also continued expanding its footprint in Florida through the acquisition of Fuse Specialty Appliances & Plumbing, which added seven luxury kitchen and bath showrooms throughout South Florida.
Combined with planned growth in markets including Tampa and Nashville, these investments reflect a long-term vision centered on supporting the professional design and construction community with integrated solutions and regional expertise.
What Does This Mean for Surface Fabricators?
For fabricators, growth creates opportunity.
As development continues throughout the Southeast and Sun Belt, demand for natural stone, quartz, large-format porcelain, and specialty surfacing materials continues to increase. Meeting that demand requires more than fabrication equipment. It requires strong supplier relationships, dependable logistics, efficient operations, and ongoing investment in people and facilities.
Construction Resources' growth strategy is designed to strengthen each of those areas while creating a network that better supports the professionals who bring projects to life every day.
As an ISFA member for more than 25 years and a recipient of the 2025 ISFA Surface Fabrication Excellence Award, Construction Resources remains committed to advancing the craft of fabrication while investing in the future of the industry.
Where Do We Go from Here?
The future of the surface industry will be shaped by collaboration, innovation, and investment.
Whether through new fabrication capabilities, expanded distribution networks, strategic acquisitions, or destination Design Centers, Construction Resources continues to invest in the resources needed to serve a growing market.
From Charleston to Dallas and beyond, we are building more than a collection of locations. We are building a connected surface network designed to support builders, designers, fabricators, and homeowners for years to come.
